An old-style yiḏaki with slim body, confined chamber and super-nice growl; this instrument has a quite low backpressure, but great playabilities. The sound feels deep and earthy, the toot is easy to play and sound great over the drone. I recommend this instrument for those, who are looking for 'something different'.

A highly-resonant mako with spacious internal chamber, conical shape, and meditative sound full of harmonics. Due to the medium to low backpressure, this instrument is suitable for slow, melodic playing style. There is a repair on the middle-part of the body, a hole patched up with wax (see on the photo). Djul'djul is a senior artist, the wife of the legendary yiḏaki maker B.Wunuŋmurra who passed a few years ago. Djul'djul was heavily involved in the yiḏaki business, painting the instruments made by her late husband, so probably many of you are familiar with her work. I do not have information on who made the instrument, usually Djul'djul's grandsons are involved in the process. The instrument has medium backpressure, it is responsive and easy to play. The too is easy to hit, the wall is solid therefore the sound is straight-forward. I recommend this excellent yiḏaki for traditional fans.

A great yiḏaki for trad-heads from a young master-maker and ceremonial player. The wall of the instrument is thick and solid, mouthpiece is comfortable and shaped by applying a layer of fixative. The backpressure is well-balanced and serves the player well; the transition between the drone and toot is easy, the sound is full of harmonics. A great catch, highly recommended for those who are looking for a stick to practice traditional rhythms.
