Rorruwuy is a small community, about 3 hours drive to the East from Yirrkala and Gove region. The homeland belong to the Ḏatiwuy clan. The establishments situated a few hundred meters away from the mangroves, at the edge of the Arnhem Bay. The community has only 5 houses and a small health centre.
Place of residency: Yirrkala and Dhälinybuy
Yirrkala is the major Aboriginal community of the the Miwatj region, the North-east part of Arnhem Land. The community was established by the Overseas Methodist Mission in the mid-twentieth century, and became the semi-permanent home of members of about 15 different clan-groups who were residing the region in the pre-colonial history. Today, Yirrkala has over 800 residents, have a school, shop, and the home of the word-renowned Buku-Larrŋgay Mulka art centre.
Dhälinybuy is a bigger homeland, situated about an hour drive to the east from the Gove region. The community lays on Warramiri land, have about 10 houses, a school and a health centre, and provide home for several families. Dhälinybuy is the home of many Yolŋu artists and several yiḏaki makers.
