Ŋaninydjirr Munuŋgurritj yiḏaki D-Eb/F# (HLY-542) SOLD

$1100

Out of stock

Another great instrument from Ŋaninydjirr in the medium key range – plays between D and Eb. Due to its narrow upper chamber, it is responsive to tongue movements and has medium backpressure. Its is an easy-to-play instrument with nice ‘dups’ and warm acoustics.

It is the result of a collaboration between a young maker from the Yirrkala Art Centre and senior artist Merrkiyawuy #2. Painted with natural earth pigments, the artwork depicts dhaṯam (waterlily) at Garimala, a sacred billabong near GäṉGäṉ outstation on Gälpu clan territory.

Highly recommended for collectors and enthusiasts of Yolŋu art.
