From this latest stock, this is my personal pick for customers who are looking for an unusual instrument. It is an old‑school, low‑pitched yiḏaki with a natural bore, painted with earth pigments.
The drone plays in a deep, down‑to‑earth key with a bass‑forward soundscape. The backpressure sits between medium and low, the instrument responds surprisingly well to tongue movements, and the transition from drone to toot is easy.
I highly recommend this excellent piece to dedicated trad‑heads.
